Very much felt like a budget hold wrapped in Marriott dressing. Really nice staff, but the rooms were basically pods with wetrooms (shower and toilet in one, if you're not familiar), breakfast buffet was hosted in a (very clean and nicely designed) hostel sryle living room type lobby and was lacking some fruit (no oranges, for instance) and lean dining options, and the guided "self" check-in and check-out in flet cheap. Overall, felt more like a hostel/budget hotel than something I would expect from Marriott. That said, the location is convenient if you want to be union square, they have a rooftop and a gym, and the breakfast they do provide is more than adequate for most folks without dietary restrictions. And as stated, the staff is lovely.

Thank you for a wonderful stay. The staff's atmosphere and service were excellent, and the room was clean and well-appointed, making for a comfortable business trip. I would definitely stay here again when I come to San Francisco. Security was also good, and it was convenient to have a microwave so I could heat up a lunch box I bought nearby.

My boyfriend and I had a great time at the Citizen M hotel in San Francisco! The hotel itself is different from the usual layout of a brand name hotel, such as a Holiday Inn or a Hilton. The lobby itself is decorative and feels more so like a lounge. It was very modern and they gave us a free drink coupon upon check in which was nice! The room reminded us of a cruise ship, with the bathroom being about the size of one on a ship, and also just the layout itself reminded us of it as well. The room is more so modern as well, with an iPad that can control the temperature, window shades, and even the color of the room lights. I recommend this hotel very much and we’d love to stay here again! Thanks Citizen M hotels!

I think this is one great place to stay in if you are in San Francisco. The room was super clean, really courteous, superb staff at the front desk and canteen! The rooms are compact but highly functional, super clean. The checkin was so supper smooth with the tablet, and if you are first time checking in, there is prompt support from the front desk. Super, in simpler terms! Disclaimer: experiences may vary as per individual benchmarks for quality.

I am not the target market for this hotel. As a business traveler and Platinum Marriott member, I travel a lot. And I’m not 65 but this hotel is too hip for me. You check yourself in, which requires uploading your ID and took about 2x as long as a regular human led check in because of the glare from the lights that wouldn’t allow my camera to render the ID correctly. A very nice gentlemen kept checking in to say “how’s it going over there?” Fine sir. I’m just 5 minutes into a 2 minute check in process. As I’m sure you’ve researched in advance, the rooms are tiny. Maybe 150 square feet? The bed sits between the wall like you are on a cruise ship. Probably the worst sleep I’ve had in a long time - the bed was unreasonably hard. My back hurts as I write this again - for the record - I am not 65 lol. The iPad next to the bed was cute and I used the nighttime setting and listening to some calming music before bed. I also liked the book in the room “Why you will marry the wrong person”. Actually highly recommend reading that!
